Q: What is Organised Chaos?
A: OC is the biggest, monthly LAN (Local Area Network) party in South Africa. Check out our Introduction page for more info.
Q: What do I need to do to participate?
A: You will need a computer or video game console, book a seat at an OC event and you are good to go. If you are planning to sleep over, bring sleeping gear and extra clothes. Shower facilities are available.
Q: How do I attend?
A: Check which event you would like to book seats for on the frontpage and then follow the booking process as described here, on the bookings page.
Q: How much does this cost?
A: Attendance at Organised Chaos costs R150 at the event for the whole weekend. Or if you book in advance online, only R120. On Saturdays after 6 pm, entry is only R70.
Q: How long do you play for?
A: Our events are scheduled for an entire weekend, starting from 5 pm on Fridays and ending at 12 pm noon on Sundays.
Q: How do we connect?
A: All attendees are connected using switches and network cables. These are connected to the back of your computer where you should have a network card installed.
Q: What happens if I don't have a network card?
A: Simply let us know that you need one, and we will make sure that we have stock at the next event so you can buy one from us at the LAN.
Q: Is my computer equipment safe?
A: Unfortunately, theft is a reality. OC tries to promote a safe gaming environment and has security guards present at each event. However, the best way to protect yourself is by making friends with those who sit around you. They are as concerned of theft as you are and will gladly watch your back.
Q: Is there an age restriction?
A: There is none. However, if you are younger than 16 you will have to make sure that you get your parents approval to participate in an OC event.
Q: Can girls play?
A: Yes, of course. And there are many girls that come to OC at a regular basis. So don't feel left out!
